What is Klondike?
Klondike is the solo game many people simply call Solitaire. Seven columns are dealt with one to seven cards, only the top card face up. In the columns you place a card one rank lower and of the other colour on top (a red 7 on a black 8). Stacked cards can be moved together, and an empty column takes a K. The remaining cards form the stock, turned as you go. Build each of the four suits from A to K on the foundations to win.

Rules of Klondike
These rules always apply at our tables.
- Setup
- deal seven columns from left to right with one, two … seven cards, turning only the top card of each face up. The other 24 cards form the stock.
- Building
- a face-up card can go on a card one rank higher of the other colour (a red 7 on a black 8, for example). A run of face-up cards can be moved together from any card in it.
- Empty columns
- only a K (or a run starting with a K) can go in an empty column.
- Turning over
- when a face-down card is left on top of a column, it is turned face up.
- Stock
- tap the stock to turn a card onto the waste. The top waste card can go to a column or a foundation. When the stock runs out, the waste is turned over to become the stock again.
- Foundations
- build each of the four suits in order from A to K. A card on a foundation may also be moved back to a column.
- Winning
- you win when all 52 cards are on the foundations. Once the stock and waste are empty and every column card is face up, the rest is moved to the foundations automatically.
Optional rules
You choose these when opening a table.
- Draw three
- the stock is turned three cards at a time and only the top one can be played. Choose it under “Details” when you open the table.
- Passes
- by default you may go through the stock as often as you like. With “Three passes”, the waste can be turned back into the stock only twice.
