What is Gomoku?

Five in a row: Black wins
Stones go on the intersections. Five of your stones in a row - across, down or diagonally - wins. Block your opponent's four by playing on the open end.

Take turns placing black and white stones on the intersections of a go board; the first to get five in a row - across, down or diagonally - wins. "Get five in a row" is all there is to learn, but you'll be blocking your opponent's threes and fours while building shapes they can't stop. Games are short, so it's perfect for playing several rounds in a room and keeping score.
